It is important that children and parents can come into school in the mornings and leave at 3.30pm safely. Our School Travel Plan gained funding which enabled us to make Pretoria Avenue a one-way route and a 20mph zone.

We encourage parents to walk their children to school rather than try and park in Pretoria Avenue. It is a narrow road with yellow zig zags so there is no parking. St Patricks school children are arriving at the same time and this means that over 700 children and many parents are walking along the streets around the schools. If children wish to ride bikes or scooters to school, we have racks and shelters in the playground.

We ask parents not to pull up outside the school gates to drop children off or to use our very small car park to pull into and turn round. This way, we can avoid any child or parent getting hurt.
